Samantha's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Nov 11, 2024

I chose to join this campaign because I want to help fight cancer by raising money and spreading awareness for this cause. I fundraised last year for this campaign and I am so grateful to have received $6,000 in donations. This campaign is important to me because my close family friend was tested for cancer in 2016, and the results came back that she had lymphoma. She battled cancer for five years after that but has been in remission ever since. There have been no signs of cancer since then, which is a blessing and is why this campaign is so important to me. If she had not received sufficient funds for her surgeries and treatments, she would not have been able to beat cancer. I want to raise enough money to make a difference and be able to help any cancer patients that need it.

I need your help so I can help them!

Here is a little bit about me!

I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and have lived here my whole life. I am currently a senior at Pine Crest School. I have two younger sisters who are 17 years old and I enjoy spending time with them. I am a part of the cheerleading team at Pine Crest, and I love cheering because of the close relationships I have built with my teammates over the years. In my free time, I babysit my neighbors and spend time with my friends. I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity to help make a difference in cancer patient's lives!

Samantha's Student Visionaries of the Year Fundraiser

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
